Terms of Service | Connect Hosting

1. Definitions

In these Terms of Service ("Terms") the following expressions have the meanings set out below:

"Connect Hosting", "we", "us", "our" — ConnectHosting.net, a trading name of Connect Hosting LTD (Company No. 14211501), Office 007, Enterprise Centre, University of Hull, Cottingham Road, Hull, England, HU6 7RX.
"Customer", "you", "your" — the natural or legal person who registers an account or otherwise uses the Services.
"Services" — all hosting services we provide, including both Free Tier Services and Paid Tier Services, the control panel, community features, and any related products or support.
"Free Tier Services" — game server hosting provided at no monetary cost, subject to the restrictions and conditions set out in Section 7 of these Terms. Free Tier Services are currently available for BeamMP and may be extended to other games at our discretion.
"Paid Tier Services" — prepaid game server hosting and related products purchased through our checkout process, subject to the payment terms set out in Section 8.
"Agreement" — the contract formed under Section 4 together with these Terms and any documents expressly incorporated by reference.
"In-Server Communications" — announcements, messages, promotions, advertisements, or other content displayed within a game server's chat, MOTD (message of the day), loading screen, or other in-game communication channels.

2. Scope

These Terms apply to every use of the Services, whether Free Tier or Paid Tier. Where specific sections apply only to one tier, this is stated. Additional rules may apply to community features, promotional campaigns, or the partner programme; where they conflict, those specific rules prevail.

3. Eligibility & Registration

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Services. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have the consent of a parent or guardian. You must be legally capable of agreeing to these Terms in your jurisdiction.
During registration you must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
We may send contractual notices to the email address registered to your account. Keep it current.
One account per person. We may suspend duplicate or fraudulent accounts without notice.
You must not share, sell, or transfer your account to another person.
Free Tier Services require authentication via Discord. You must maintain membership in the Connect Hosting Discord server for the duration of your free server's existence. Leaving the Discord server may result in automatic suspension or termination of your free server.

4. Formation of Contract

Our website listings are invitations to treat, not offers. By completing checkout (Paid Tier) or activating a free server (Free Tier), you make a binding offer to use the Services on the terms set out herein.
For Paid Tier Services, the contract is formed when (i) we email an order confirmation, or (ii) we make the Service available and you begin using it, whichever is earlier.
For Free Tier Services, the contract is formed when your server is provisioned and becomes available.
Contract language: English.

5. Services Overview

Connect Hosting provides game server hosting, including but not limited to BeamMP, Minecraft, Rust, and other supported titles. Our services include:

Dedicated game server instances on shared or dedicated hardware
A control panel (Pterodactyl) for server management, file access, console, backups, and scheduling
Community features including mod hosting, server browser, and player rankings
Customer support via our ticketing system and Discord

We reserve the right to modify, discontinue, or add services at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes to Paid Tier Services where possible. Free Tier Services may be modified, reduced, or discontinued at any time without prior notice.

6. Service Tiers

The Services are divided into two tiers. The tier applicable to your server determines which terms apply. Where a provision in these Terms applies to both tiers, it is stated without qualification. Where it applies only to one tier, the tier is specified.

6.1 Free Tier

Free Tier Services are provided with limited resources (e.g., limited RAM, player slots, and storage). Free Tier Services are provided entirely at our discretion and may be subject to additional restrictions, including but not limited to activity requirements, Discord membership requirements, and fair use limits.

6.2 Paid Tier

Paid Tier Services are provided with the resources specified in your selected plan. Paid Tier Services are governed by the payment terms in Section 8 and are subject to the service levels described in Section 13.

7. Free Tier Services — Additional Terms

The following terms apply specifically to Free Tier Services. By using a Free Tier server, you agree to these additional conditions.

7.1 Nature of Free Tier

Free Tier Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty, guarantee, or service level commitment whatsoever. Free Tier Services are a privilege, not a right. We provide them voluntarily and may withdraw them at any time, for any reason, or for no reason, without liability to you.

7.2 No Service Level Agreement

Free Tier Services carry no uptime guarantee, no performance guarantee, and no availability commitment. We do not guarantee that your free server will be available at any particular time, that it will perform to any particular standard, or that it will remain operational for any minimum duration. Downtime, degraded performance, service interruptions, and outages may occur at any time without notice.

7.3 In-Server Communications & Promotions

By using Free Tier Services, you acknowledge and agree that we reserve the right to display In-Server Communications on your free server, including but not limited to:

Announcements about Connect Hosting services, features, and updates
Promotional messages for paid plans, upgrades, and special offers
Advertisements from Connect Hosting or approved third-party partners
Community messages, event notifications, and platform news
Branding elements such as server name prefixes, MOTD notices, or chat messages

These communications may appear in server chat, the message of the day, loading screens, server names/descriptions in the server browser, or any other in-game communication channel. You may not disable, circumvent, obscure, or remove these communications. Attempting to do so is a violation of these Terms and may result in immediate termination of your free server.

7.4 Termination & Suspension

We may suspend or terminate any Free Tier server at any time, without notice, without reason, and without liability to you. Reasons for termination may include, but are not limited to:

Violation of the Acceptable Use Policy (Section 10)
Inactivity (server not used for a period we determine)
Leaving the Connect Hosting Discord server
Infrastructure capacity constraints
Abuse, excessive resource usage, or unfair use patterns
Any reason at our sole and absolute discretion

Upon termination of a Free Tier server, all data associated with that server (including world files, configurations, mods, and backups) may be permanently and irreversibly deleted without prior notice. We are under no obligation to provide a grace period, export facility, or backup of any kind.

7.5 Fair Use Policy

Free Tier Services are subject to a fair use policy. You must not:

Create more than one free server per individual, household, or network
Use multiple accounts to circumvent the one-server limit
Use the free server for commercial purposes, including selling access, running paid events, or monetising content hosted on the server
Leave a free server idle for extended periods solely to reserve resources
Use the free server as a development, testing, or staging environment for commercial projects
Attempt to exceed the allocated resource limits through any technical means

We reserve the right to determine what constitutes fair use at our sole discretion. Violations may result in immediate suspension or permanent loss of Free Tier eligibility.

7.6 No Liability for Free Tier

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Connect Hosting accepts no liability whatsoever in connection with Free Tier Services, including but not limited to liability for data loss, service interruption, downtime, degraded performance, server deletion, or any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages of any kind. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with Free Tier Services is to stop using them.

7.7 Transition to Paid Tier

You may upgrade from Free Tier to Paid Tier at any time through our checkout process. Upon upgrading, your server will be subject to Paid Tier terms (Sections 8, 9, and 13) going forward. We do not guarantee that data or configuration from a Free Tier server will be preserved during an upgrade, although we will make reasonable efforts to do so.

8. Paid Tier — Fees & Payments

The following terms apply to Paid Tier Services only.

8.1 Pricing

All prices are displayed in your selected currency (GBP, USD, or EUR) and include any applicable UK VAT unless stated otherwise. Services are prepaid. We reserve the right to change pricing at any time. Price changes do not affect existing active subscriptions until renewal.

8.2 Payment Methods

We accept payment via Stripe (credit/debit cards) and PayPal. All payments are processed securely by our third-party payment providers. We do not store your full card details. We may add or remove payment methods at any time.

8.3 Subscriptions & Renewals

Services are billed on a recurring basis (monthly by default). Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. We will send renewal reminders before your billing date. You are responsible for cancelling any active PayPal automatic payments if you wish to stop renewals.

8.4 Failed Payments

If a payment fails, we will attempt to notify you and retry. If payment remains outstanding after our dunning period (typically 7 days), your service may be suspended. Continued non-payment may result in termination and data deletion.

8.5 Credit Balances

Account credit balances are non-transferable and non-withdrawable to external accounts. Credit balances do not accrue interest and expire if your account is terminated for breach of these Terms.

9. Paid Tier — Refunds & Right of Withdrawal

9.1 Right of Withdrawal (UK/EU Consumers)

If you are a consumer, you have 14 days to withdraw from this Agreement without giving any reason. However, you expressly request immediate performance of the digital service; therefore, once server provisioning begins you lose the right to withdraw under regulation 34(1) of the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

9.2 48-Hour Money-Back Guarantee

You may cancel any new Paid Tier service within 48 hours of the initial order for a full refund to your original payment method. This guarantee applies only to first-time purchases of a given service and does not apply to renewals, upgrades, or additional services. To request a refund, contact support@connecthosting.net.

9.3 Renewal Refunds

Renewal charges are non-refundable. It is your responsibility to cancel your subscription before the renewal date if you do not wish to continue. We send reminder emails before renewal; failure to read them does not entitle you to a refund.

9.4 Chargebacks & Disputes

Filing a chargeback or payment dispute instead of contacting our support team constitutes a breach of these Terms. Upon notification of a chargeback, we may immediately suspend your services and pursue recovery of the disputed amount plus any chargeback fees imposed by the payment processor. Fraudulent chargebacks may be reported to anti-fraud networks and, where appropriate, law enforcement.

10. Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to all Services, both Free Tier and Paid Tier. You must use the Services in compliance with all applicable laws. You agree not to use our services to:

Host, distribute, or link to illegal content under the laws of England and Wales, including extremist or terrorist content, child sexual abuse material, or content that encourages violence or discrimination
Host copyrighted works without the consent of the rights holder, including pirated software, cracked game servers, leaked mods or plugins, or stolen intellectual property
Run DDoS attacks, port scanning, network probing, or any malicious network activity from or against any system
Send spam, phishing emails, or unsolicited bulk communications
Mine cryptocurrency or run any non-game workloads (including but not limited to machine learning training, web scraping, proxy/VPN services, or general-purpose computing) without prior written approval
Attempt to exploit, overload, or circumvent our infrastructure, rate limits, resource allocations, or fair-use policies
Violate the terms of service of any game, mod, or software running on your server
Harass, threaten, doxx, or abuse other users, players, our staff, or any third party
Operate gambling services, real-money trading, or other regulated activities from your server
Impersonate Connect Hosting, our staff, or any other person or entity
Resell our services without an active partner agreement
Use the services to conduct or facilitate any activity that is illegal in the jurisdiction in which you are located or from which you access the services

Only one free-tier server is permitted per individual or network. Any abuse, including use of leaked or pirated mods/plugins, will result in immediate suspension and permanent loss of free-tier eligibility.

Violation of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination without refund. We reserve the right to determine what constitutes a violation at our sole discretion. We are not required to provide prior warning before taking enforcement action, although we may choose to do so for minor or first-time infractions at our discretion.

11. Copyright, DMCA & Intellectual Property

11.1 Our Intellectual Property

All software, branding, website content, and documentation provided by Connect Hosting remain our property or that of our licensors. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them solely for the purpose of accessing the Services. This licence is automatically revoked upon termination of your account or services.

11.2 Your Content

Content you upload to your server (mods, maps, configs, world files) remains your property or the property of its respective creators. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to use, distribute, and host any content on your server. You grant us a limited licence to host, store, transmit, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Services.

11.3 Copyright Infringement & Takedown

We respect intellectual property rights and expect our customers to do the same. If you believe that content hosted on our platform infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice to:

Your notice must include:

Identification of the copyrighted work(s) you claim have been infringed
Identification of the material you claim is infringing and information reasonably sufficient for us to locate it (e.g., server ID, file names)
Your contact information (name, address, email, phone)
A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf
Your physical or electronic signature

Upon receipt of a valid takedown notice, we may remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material and notify the account holder. Repeat infringers may have their accounts and services terminated permanently.

11.4 Mods & Community Content

When installing mods, maps, or plugins from our community repository or any third-party source, you accept sole responsibility for ensuring that the content is legitimately obtained and that you comply with any applicable licence terms. We do not vet, endorse, or guarantee the legality of third-party content. If we receive a valid takedown or infringement claim regarding content on your server, we may remove it or suspend your server without prior notice.

12. Server Data & Backups

Your game server data (world files, configs, mods) belongs to you.
We provide backup tools in the control panel. You are solely responsible for maintaining adequate backups of your data. We are not responsible for loss or corruption of data except where caused by our wilful misconduct.
Upon service termination (whether by you, by us, or through account closure), your server data may be deleted irreversibly. We are under no obligation to retain it or provide an export facility.
Free Tier: Backup features may be limited or unavailable. Free Tier data may be deleted at any time, without notice, and without any obligation to provide prior warning or data export. We strongly recommend regularly downloading important files via SFTP.
Paid Tier: We provide backup tools as part of your plan. We make reasonable efforts to protect your data but do not guarantee backup integrity. Automated backups are provided as a convenience and are not a substitute for your own backup strategy.

13. Uptime & Maintenance

13.1 Paid Tier

For Paid Tier Services, we aim to provide 99% annual uptime. Scheduled maintenance and events outside our reasonable control are excluded, including:

Upstream provider outages or network issues beyond our control
DDoS attacks targeting our infrastructure or your server
Force majeure events (natural disasters, pandemics, civil unrest, war, government action)
Third-party service failures (game updates, mod repository outages, DNS provider issues)
Your own misconfiguration, abuse of resources, or actions by players on your server

Where possible, maintenance is performed during off-peak hours with prior notice sent to your account email. The 99% uptime target is an objective, not a guarantee. Failure to meet this target does not entitle you to compensation unless a separate SLA agreement has been executed.

13.2 Free Tier

Free Tier Services carry no uptime commitment whatsoever. See Section 7.2.

14. Suspension & Termination

14.1 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate Services immediately if you:

Fail to maintain sufficient prepaid credit or payment (Paid Tier)
Breach these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy
Materially infringe a third-party intellectual property right
Engage in fraudulent activity, including use of stolen payment methods or filing fraudulent chargebacks
Are abusive, threatening, or harassing towards our staff or other users
Violate the fair use policy (Free Tier)
Leave the Connect Hosting Discord server (Free Tier)
Fail to maintain required activity levels (Free Tier)

For Free Tier Services, we additionally reserve the right to terminate for any reason or no reason as set out in Section 7.4.

14.2 Termination by You

You may cancel your Paid Tier services at any time via your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are given for unused time within a billing cycle. You may delete your Free Tier server at any time via the dashboard.

14.3 Effects of Termination

Upon termination, regardless of the reason:

Your access to the terminated service will be revoked immediately
Server data may be permanently deleted (see Section 12)
Any unused credit balance may be forfeited if termination was due to your breach of these Terms
Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Intellectual Property, and Governing Law

15. Resource Limits & Fair Use

Each plan has allocated resources (CPU, RAM, disk space). "Unlimited" features on any plan are subject to fair use — resources must be used for legitimate game server operations (maps, mods, backups, configs). We reserve the right to contact you if usage significantly exceeds normal patterns for your plan tier.

We do not guarantee specific performance levels on shared infrastructure. If your server consistently requires more resources than allocated, we may recommend an upgrade, throttle resource usage, or, in extreme cases, suspend the server to protect other customers.

16. Partner Programme

If you participate in our partner/reseller programme, additional terms apply. Partners must not misrepresent their relationship with Connect Hosting. We may revoke partner status at any time for any reason.

17. Affiliate Programme

Our affiliate programme allows you to earn commission on referred sales. Affiliates must not use misleading advertising, spam, or any deceptive methods to generate referrals. We reserve the right to void commissions and terminate affiliate accounts for policy violations. Minimum withdrawal thresholds apply.

18. Warranties & Disclaimers

Except as expressly set out in these Terms:

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available".
We disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components.
We do not warrant that any particular game, mod, or software will be compatible with our infrastructure.
We make no representations regarding the reliability, accuracy, or completeness of any information on our website.

Free Tier Services are provided with no warranties of any kind, express or implied. See Section 7.

19. Limitation of Liability

19.1 Exclusions

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for:

Death or personal injury caused by negligence
Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
Any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the laws of England and Wales

19.2 Paid Tier Liability Cap

Subject to Section 19.1, for Paid Tier Services, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Services, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount paid by you to Connect Hosting in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £50.

19.3 Free Tier Liability Cap

Subject to Section 19.1, for Free Tier Services, our total aggregate liability is limited to zero (£0). You use Free Tier Services entirely at your own risk. We have no obligation to compensate you for any loss or damage arising from or connected to your use of Free Tier Services.

19.4 Excluded Losses

Subject to Section 19.1, we are not liable for any:

Indirect, consequential, special, or exemplary damages
Loss of profit, revenue, business, anticipated savings, or goodwill
Loss of or damage to data (including game saves, worlds, configurations, and mods)
Loss of use or interruption of service
Damages arising from the acts or omissions of third parties (including game developers, mod creators, payment processors, and infrastructure providers)
Damages arising from your own breach of these Terms

The above limits apply equally to our employees, directors, officers, agents, and subcontractors.

20. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Connect Hosting, its directors, officers, employees, agents, and subcontractors from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or in connection with:

Your use of the Services (including content hosted on your server)
Your breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy
Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
Your infringement of any third-party intellectual property or other rights
Any claim brought by a third party relating to content you host, distribute, or make available through the Services

21. Privacy

Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of data as described in those policies.

22. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time to reflect changes in law, technology, our services, or business practice. Changes take effect as follows:

Paid Tier: We will give at least 14 days' notice by email before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to the changes, you may cancel your subscription before the effective date.
Free Tier: Changes to Free Tier terms take effect immediately upon posting to this page. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically. Continued use of Free Tier Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.

23. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This Agreement and any dispute arising out of it are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any competent jurisdiction. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under mandatory applicable law.

24. General

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Entire agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and any applicable order confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between you and Connect Hosting regarding the Services.
No waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not be construed as a waiver of that provision or the right to enforce it at a later time.
Assignment: You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights and obligations to a successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all of our assets.
